The practice of meditation is traditionally given to students at a short initiation ceremony which marks the importance of the occasion and gets the practice off to a good start. Students are usually invited to start the practice of meditation in their second year of Practical Philosophy. The events take place at the following three locations around the middle of each term:
1) The Guildford Branch of the School
at Practical Philosophy Guildford (see photo), St Catherine’s School House, 26a Portsmouth Road, Guildford, GU2 4DJ.
2) The School of Meditation, at 158 Holland Park Avenue, London W11 4UH. Date: TBA
3) Waterperry House, Oxford - Initiations take place at Waterperry only on one day during the summer term.
If you would like an appointment please ask your tutor. All appointments are booked through the Branch Leader - Peter Reddell.
These events are beautiful occasions and the whole event takes about 2 hours. Having started the practice of meditation then all meditation tutorials take place locally in Kingston.
